Default Master Link - Which Side Out? KLX250S

Master link side plate has an "S" on it.

Does the "S" face out or in toward the bulk of the chain?

Does it matter?

Don't think anything matters EXCEPT getting the opening of the clip on the TRAILING edge as the chain goes around. In other words, if something hits the clip as you're riding (stick, rock, etc.) you don't want it popping the clip off. I would personally put the clip on the outside so I can find it easily.

Sounds like you are actually talking about flipping the side plate over but still having the clip face away from the tire. The sideplate should be symetrical but in cases like this, the printed side should be on the outside of the assembled part.

Thanks

Always planned to keep the removable side plate on the outside. Will place the printed side out.
