Default Lid or No Lid - That is the Question!

Okay, I'm finding out that the KLX will make more power - all we need to do is unrestrict the airbox even more.

I'm wondering if you're running with or without a lid on your airbox.

I run with lid & double snorkel, but I am starting to question that.

See my comment here: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/fb.asp?m=90825

Any feedback welcome.

Lid w/KDX high flow snorkle. Directs the incoming charge properly into the filter and carb inlet but still allowing more than adequate volume even when using modifiied exhaust sytem of any make.

I have no lid, because with it on it tends to backfire and have less power. ... i'm wondering about the highflow snorkel since I have been getting into water lately. However, its way better without at this point..

Had no lid, put lid back on with out snorkel and I had more power, I was too lean with my setup with the lid off.

Lid on with high-flow snork. No snork (and for sure no lid) way too loud for me. Plus I see high water from time to time.

I ran for years with the lid off the air box on my CR125R with nary a trace of water in the intake, and through water up to mid-motor.

Question: Is this bike prone to taking on water from either rain or mud flap spit?? I'm thinking that if Im riding in water that is above the air filter (30 inches Plus??) that I would be hosed anyway due to shorting out with all these electical connections, battery and whatnot..

Thoughts??
