Lid on with high-flow snork. No snork (and for sure no lid) way too loud for me. Plus I see high water from time to time.
OK, couple of things, high-flow mean air not water, if you tip over the bike lid or no lid, high or regular snorkel, it doesn't matter, water is gonna get in faster than you can pick up the bike, and second, what's the loudness that people are hearing with the air box cover off? All I can hear is the Muzzy

There is some serious intake noise when you run with no snorkel and more so with no lid. I could hear it over an uncapped 300 exhaust pipe, its a funny bwog sound, kinda like the muffler in reverse is all I could describe it as.

For me the sound with no lid was extremely "clappy" and almost deafening while riding under hard accel... It was WAY louder than with the lid on.

If you are running with the lid off and you think the intake it too loud your exhaust isn't loud enough. I don't even hear the intake, maybe my Muzzy is too loud, but either way, its supposed to be loud, otherwise nobody will stare at you when you're tooling around......right?

I ran mine for with stock exhaust and air lid off for a very short duration just to check-out the sound and I personally don't see the problem. To me, all it did was give the bike a lower, more throaty sound. I like it much better with lid off.

No lid, 125 main, drilled first baffle in stock pipe. Haven't we done several threads like this before?

Slightly different spin this time Thunderchild, Some are saying that riding with no lid is excessively loud.

Seems that other then Deej, who feels it adds to the muffler sound in a positive way (which is very cool Deej, you'd make a great 2 stroke dirt rider!!) those running with the lid off AND who made the 'WIDGET' Muffler mod seem to be saying its very loud and somewhat anoying.

Interestingly enough, both you and one other person who have the lid off and who currently have the STOCK muffler don't seem to mind the sound.

Is it possible perhaps that the stock muffler some how reduces the intake a bit so it is not sucking as loud????

Thoughts???
