OK...the first take was made yesterday! (6-8-2007 ) The capacity is a bit lower than expected (2.7) but every thing remains stock except for the lower vent lines. They say the fit is perfect and the tank finish is flawless.

You can call 1-503-829-2156 to order yours now. $180.00 + 14.00 shipping in the U.S. (Alaska, Hawaii excluded)
Call and pick your color they are making them custom right now and start shipping monday.

For those that plan on painting your tank: Big Mistake you will have a nasty mess. Plastic tanks have gas vapors that pass thru the plastic, stickers or paint will not last long and will bubble, discolor, and look like crap.

I suggest Natural for function and black for fashion.

Mine is on the big brown truck, so its in the hands of the UPS gods now...Southie...can you pull some strings and speed that up?

2.7 Gal? That's just barely over a half gal above the stock. No thanks I'll carry my (2) 22oz in the pelican case and if I need more than that I'll grab the (2) 33 oz bottles and throw them in the camelback. That seems like too much money and work to gain that small amount.

Its still worth it to get the neutral polymer tank, IMO.

Can anyone say if the Clarke tank will still have the petcock mounted remotely, and will it use the stock plastic shrouds?

Thanks.

It has Brass fittings on the tank to accept the remote petcock, Also the stock shrouds fit.

Also they said a "Healthy" 2.7 gal.It varies due to tank thickness so I think they are being carefull with the claimed volume.

In addition to the stock petcock, any info on how much is left on reserve?

I guess if most of it is hidden by the shrouds, then the natural makes sense. Still might paint the top. If the paints 'moleculary bonds', that tell me it might actually act as a sealer on the outside. It would need to be done before install, that's the problem.

You don't need to worry about the plastic being porous. Iuse the Colorite KK7 Clearcoat kit after I've painted the tank with my favorite color. It’s a true catalytic enamel that makes your color coat impervious to fuels and solvents.
