Hey, Nobrakes, what rear fender did you install there? that looks really good!
Who makes that plateholder and does it have a light (required in MI). I have
installed some really small LED signals, removed some silly reflectors and
made a few other cosmetic mods, but that rear fender/lic plate holder is the
ugliest thing ever, been wanting to change it.

That's the Maier KLX300 MX style rear fender + Baja Designs tail light and license plate holder. It does include a plate light. You'll need to work out something for the signal lights, though. I just fab'd up an aluminum bracket to hold the stockers - their big, but I like that they are nice and bright so I didn't want to give that up.

Brian while there are questions about the fender floating around, I was wondering if the maier fender when you installed it had an extra hole on both side right about where your turn signals are. Every pic I see of that bike I can't tell. Mine had them in it, I was just wondering if yours had them too.

Yeah, mine had holes those too. I ended up using those holes to pass the signal wires through.

+1. About a 50 mile range increase is what I've been looking for. This tank hits the mark as long as it looks ok. I'm waiting for a picture before I buy.

Thanks, Nobrakes. I think we all have enough information to make the right choice for our type of riding. Personally, the Clarke tank will do it for 95% of the DS runs I do and ALL the riding I do with my buddies. If I ever do a DS run that's over 100 miles or so, I'll opt for the MSR feul tanks.

Color? Natural. I'm all about function. If only my old body still was.......

I just went to place an order through JustGasTank.com. Cost is $174.95 and their website claims a flat shipping rate of $9.75 anywhere in the US. When I went to check out, though, the shipping was calculated as $39.75, so I'll wait to call in the order in Monday.

BTW - I gave them a US delivery address thats different from my billing address- their International shipping rate was $64.75.

Computers ... go figure?!??
