Default KX125 clutch plates, clutch will not release.

I rebuilt my clutch using the KX125 plates that have been recommended here and on Planet KLX. After the rebuild the clutch will not release. I am pretty sure I got it together all right. I used Barnett springs.

Has anyone used KX125 plates in their KLX clutch?

Is there some obvious reason that the clutch will not release? No mater how you adjust the cable the drive stays to the rear wheel.

Thanks

Wish I could help you out, but I have another question: what is the advantage to using KX125 clutch plates on the KLX250?

The KX clutch frictions are better quality and have more surface area.

I think I may have found the answer, it may be true that I need to run the thinner steel plate when running the thicker, more agressive KX frictions.

Did you soak the fibres in oil prior to installation??

Yes, I did it all by the book. I've done clutches before too.

The bottom line is if you want to he the KX125 friction plates you need to use the thinner steels. Otherwise the stack height is too thick and the clutch cannot release.

I ordered the thinner steel plates last week.
