KX Fork Swap Nearly Complete

I'm looking at the BRPMoto (http://www.brpmoto.com/product_info....oducts_id=1533) triple clamps with the Scott's stabilizer. Should I consider larger fork tubes that are easier to find as opposed to reworking 15 year old worn out models?

What you have to be concerned about with other triple clamps is the steering stem and the bearings in the steering head. The 43mm forks bolt right into the stock triples. 46mm forks and triples require machining done to the steering stem to fit through the upper bearing.

I was thinking about something like these:

If they can be machined or made slightly bigger, I could fit a 46 to 48mm fork depending on what I find that is cost effective.

I wouldn't suggest machining out the fork bores on those to fit the newer/larger forks. It would weaken them. It would be easier to press the stem out of the newer/larger fork tripples and machine the stem down and re-thread it. I did that to a set of 46mm forks. When I tried them, they were too firm for my riding style......pokey.
