KLX300 - "Unmuzzled" Power Charts Needed.
I understand what you're saying about the spread of the gear ratios completely. I think you missed my point though. If the bike made more power across the whole curve, then that wide gap between ratios wouldn't matter, because there would be enough grunt at the lower RPM that you're shifting into to still carry the bike just fine. The ratios only seem spread too far apart when upshifts take the engine below the powerband. This is why cars and bikes with peaky powertrains have close spaced gearing, to stay up in the powerband after every shift, whereas cars with lots of power like Vipers have wider spaced gearing because there's just power across the whole tach to rely on. The way gear ratio spacing feels is dependent on the characteristics of the powertrain. Again, we're really getting at the same thing.
Awesome looking bike. I always liked DRZs. What else was done to yours?

But I still did not like the widely spaced gearing, because of the lack of smooth incremental transitions. It was not for lack of power. It was trying to make 5 gears fill the space of six.
Understood, that's actually the same reason why I use the clutch to upshift the KLX up to 3rd gear before clutchless shifting 3-4 and so on. Without using the clutch it's abrupt on 1-2 and 2-3. You need that little moment of time for the RPM to fall between gear engagement in the lower speeds.

Picked up 2.5 hp and 1 TQ with the tuner today. I have 13.1 A/F pretty much across the board and actually got the best numbers with that A/F . There is no dip in the power or TQ curve . Even better is that from peak power @7500 RPM to redline I gained even more power up to 4 hp difference. I gained 3mph on the top end also. Bike runs super smooth and am very happy with the tune. He also tuned light med throttle settings so it wasn’t JUST a max power tune. Again very happy. Won’t give total numbers just because they are just that numbers and every dyno is a little different.

What's the full list of mods again?
@ greychinos. I have you on ignore so I don’t read your post but I do see that you posted. I will not respond to any questions you ask or even care about your opinions. You have a 250 and this is a thread about the 300. You have 0 experience with this bike so move on. You seem to be a 29year old that lives in the basement of his mothers house and has nothing better to do but argue points that no one cares about.
"I can't remember at what point you had been on the dyno before. When you say it picked up 2.5 HP and 1 TQ with the tune, is that compared to stock, or compared to having other mods installed minus the tuner?"
Looks like a back to back tune and pull greychinos
Glad that you are happy with the tuning results and how this ride is progressing Olderider
