Hi,

I have just purchased a 2017 KLX250s and sometimes when I turn on the key the headlight doesn’t work. Usually I then start the bike and within say a minute of running the headlight comes on and works normally? It doesn’t seem to be loose wires or anything, because once it’s on it’s on.

Has anyone got any advice please?

 

I would take out the bulb and try a new one...
good time to upgrade to LED

if that isn’t it check wiring possibly ground

 

Check and clean the contacts in the high/lo beam dimmer switch. I'd guess some mud or corrosion is on the low contact. You could also just turn it to high and see if it doesn't do it with the switch in that position.

i managed to locate a loose wire at the main connecting plug behind the radiator. All good now!
