Ok great Mike, You can be sure that you have all the power available with the DynoJet kit at your altitude. Next is to go up to your riding area that is around 2k ASL..?

I think it'll be fine up there.. Or do I have you confused with another member..? Oh well..

so only 1 little issue ive had today
the silencer decided to somehow vibrate a little now
maybe from vibrations everything settled

so I made a ring from 12g copper wire as a spacer to press against the silencer
fill in the gap
plus I figured since the wire is copper maybe it could crush in a touch to make a better seal

after a short ride it was loose again

so now I took out the spark arrestor
they included a spacer ring to take place of the spark arrestor and now the silencer fits in sung

and after a quick freeway ride its still tight

I did idle it with no silencer, sounds way better and alot more bass

and believe it or not but using the db app but on my phone it still read around 82db at idle
but my phone was not the same readings as my ipad I used in the video

so I think it that silencer comes loose again I may try it without it

you can hear it vibrate at idle when its loose

if the end cap wasnt aluminum I would of just welded that silencer in, but its 2 different metals

I think you were thinking of me.
I went 124 main, needle on the 3rd with lid and snorkle, runs f'ing perfect. Much stronger acceleration across the board. Especially at higher elevations I run. Ran a little off-road piece called Break Neck Hill and I cruised over in 3rd, down shifted to 2nd for the "Break Neck" part and gunned it up the trail. First time the bike had enough juice to not need a downshift or clutch slip to maintain speed.
Going to run through a couple of tanks to see what my mileage is like.
Then I might go to 4th clip and see if the top end gets even better than it has gotten.
If that pans out, I'll toss in the 128 and try that.

OK, hijack over.

Thanks for the link to the DB app MikeW, I'm going to check that out.
Your bike sounds like a thumper now.

yeah probably not me

im at sea level
and I believe im using the largest jet
did alot of riding today so maybe tomorrow I will check the plug color
I was doing 40 miles each way on the freeway and probably did 120miles this weekend

my other bikes when I used to ride offroad it was like 4500 feet in the mountains they seemed to run okay
but that was a long time ago

oh and even though my speedo is dead on at 70 mph, and below I was using my gps and noticed after 70 my speedo runs slower

so my top speed may be a real 85 I will have to see whats logged in as the max later

my bike was only showing 80 but then I was never trying to do an official top speed run
just what it was sometimes when trying to get around cars

I can say now after more riding it does have much more power then stock
so thats great when trying to pass cars

I may try that knockoff power bomb header I found on ebay but im going to ask them to measure the size for me make sure it will fit my exhaust

Mike I had to let off at 87 mph once due to the bike starting to get squirrelly.. It may have gone another few MPH's above - probably not too much though..

MY DG-R slips into the stock header n exhaust seal. It maintains header I.D. pretty much up to the muffler section. I assume yours is the same. The Megabomb and (I'm sure) the Powerbomb will not work with the DG-R. It has a much larger I.D. than the stock header. The DG-R just rattles around inside the Megabomb.

here I battle the ocean winds and seems like everywhere I go is uphill
the winds can really get bad sometimes really feel the pressure on them

but I try to keep off the freeways/highways and take side streets as much as I can
only when im in a rush to get somewhere

oh and the bike sounds really great
my old drz400s never sounded like this one but I had some old fmf muffler back years ago
may have said quiet core technology not sure
and back then I didnt realize you had to jet for an exhaust
so I had no gains
and that bike would only do 99 mph never did it go past
and never had gps so who knows how off the speedo was to begin with

I dont obsess over top speeds anymore
and dont really care if the speedo is off by a little

but originally my klx I think I had to go 77 mph just to do 65
thats off by a ton so at least we have that little computer chip thing to recalibrate
any other bike I have they are close enough

like I said above, the Megabomb and Powerbomb probably will not fit your DG ... Unless you had to pull out the exhaust seal out of the stock header to fit the DG...

Then it fits like my DG,,, Sorry buddy, a megabomb or powerbomb won't work with your DG... Now if the Chinese thing has an I.D. just a tiny bit larger than the nipple on your DG then your in business...

BTW, the FMF slip-ons fit the FMF headers as well as the stock header - it's just that you have to pull the seal outta the stock header first....

I never said I was getting brand name powerbomb
I said knockoff

but I also emailed the sellers asking the pipe size just to make sure
since it mentions stock, and no mods needed to install

im hoping it would help with the sound a little like the real ones do
