I'm sure we get the "good" CDI down here in AUS.
My H7 has it. You really notice the difference when the bike goes beyond 5K. That's when the CDI advances the timing from 25o to 35o BTDC.

3 plugs into CDI with curved end. CDI attached to frame by rubber jacket. The wires come directly out of the CDI. No plugs here. It isn't attached by screws either.

I've recently looked at a friends 06 KLX300R (AUS spec) and for all the minor differences we essentially get a 300R with a 250 jug, steel tank and all the ADR stuff necessary to get it ADRed. (Licensed for the road.)
