I've got a dirty dirty little.....bike
the shirt or the girl?
As for cleaning for sale, detail the snot out of the bike using a tooth brush, Q-tips, rags, and anything else you can to get into every corner. I used Armor All and also Honda Brite or Lemon Pledge original works good to clean. Obviously don't Armor All the seat and tires. The tires should just be scrubbed clean with soap and water.
Put it up on a crate, pull up a stool and spend a few hours to do the job. Take off body panels, tank, seat, etc. If the frame and all is clean underneath that makes it look far better.

Ya, what TNC said ^^^.
Too much time on your hands. I do respect a clean bike tho...
and seems to me klx678 was describing cleaning a bike as a prep for sale.
I hose my bike off every chance I get in winter because of the sand and salt, then wash it in spring. Otherwise I stick to Klxrelic's method(except for cleaning off the chain lube from wheels and such).
If I tear the bike apart for some reason, I'll clean what I can get to.
While my bike might not be clean, all the connections have dielectric grease and the pivot points are clean and greased. I see that as maintenance, not cleaning.
Probably why a Harley doesn't really appeal to me, to much chrome to polish. I'd rather be out on the trail, getting dirty!
