Default Insurance

Hey Guys when I got my bike I went ahead and got the insurance, just liability, which is 100,000--300,000--50,000 So if I take someone out in a crosswalk or go through a plate glass store front, or hit a hummer and cause damage I'm covered. I didn't really see the need to get full coverage, since I have great medical coverage and if the bike get damaged it just becomes a project to fix. Anyway I called Geico to add the wife's bike, and to my surprise it didn't cost me any more. I guess they figure I can only ride one bike at a time. When my wife passes the test and gets her endorsement I can add her to the policy for a mere 8 bucks a year on the current policy. I think that for $80.00 a year for two bikes is not bad, and to add the wife for $8.00 a year now that's a cheap date.

For full coverage with $500 deductible on comp and collision for both my 04.5 Sportsman 500 HO atv and the KLX I pay $270 combined, $185 for the Polaris and $85 for the KLX and thats with both my dad and I on the same policy. I pay $27/month and get a 2 month break over the course of the year.

Motorcycle insurance here in Washington State is not even required, but you are still responsible for the damage you cause, $80.00 a year is good insurance considering the liability its covering. I still think they should require it here, but I guess they figure you won't be around to pay for the damages anyway, but who wants to think about that?[&:]

Sounds like a good deal! I got full coverage on mine, 200 deductible 50/100k liability for 108/year. That's the least I've ever paid for MC insurance! But, that's Arkansas, where many things are cheaper...

I presently have 4 bikes insured fully insured, including comprehensive! Hey, if someone steals your bike, and you don't have comprehensive, you have nothing but an empty spot where it once sat!

The cost is $387 per year!

Now, in Florida you don't need insurance to register a bike. However, and this is a BIG HOWEVER, if you are involved in an accident and can not provide proof of insurance on your motorcycle, you are subject to the Florida Financial Responsibility Law. Basically, without all the "legalese" you can be held responsible for ALL the damage resulting from the accident even if it was not your fault. If you live in Florida, please make sure you cover your butt! It's not expensive and can save you money in the long run!

Actually if someone steals my bike from home, my home owners insurance would pay for it, and if its in the back of my truck then the auto insurance covers it, I already checked it out, so it's all good. Oh and for motorcycle insurance, Geico all the way baby!! Farmers here in Washington state doesn't offer MC insurance, but they recommended Geico. Now I have to get the wife to pass the written to get the permit, and then I can add her to the insurance for $8.00 a year, that's crazy cheap.[sm=yikesomg.gif]

Funny cartoon.
