Default Inspection

Hey Guys, I just wanted to stress how important it has become to do a safety inspection on your bike every time you ride it. I almost found out the hard way why this is so vital to staying alive. In the picture below I did the rear tail light mod that Gravy posted, and have really liked the mod so far. In fact if I had not done that a couple of months ago, my trail ride would have torn the stock plate holder to pieces, so thanks Gravy for the great idea. Here in lies the problem. Twice now I have done a random brake light check and have found the brake light not working. My first question is to Gravy: Have you gone through any bulbs yet in the Acerbis tail light? And if so why? So as we all know there are some great check lists out there that we should be doing, but at the very least, the brake light and turn signals should be checked every time we ride.

I should do a safety check every time I ride but sometimes I don't but reading about you brake light going out makes me think, It's bad with the cars on the road normally, but it's really bad with no brake light. That could be really messy. I think I'm going to go over my bike pretty good next time Itake it out.

hey deej, i had the same problem with my acerbis taillight. im not sure what the problem was but it really was giving me a headache. it would work for about 2 minutes and then it wouldnt. i must have unscrewed that lense about 50 times before i solved the problem. after trying some different bulbs i found out that the sylvania european bulb 7528 seems to be working great and hasnt failed me yet. makes sense since acerbis is a european company i believe. the bulbs instead of having round contacts have somewhat of a oval enlongated shape giving more contact to the main fixture. with all the vibration back there, it is a good idea to check that before every ride. i know i do. the problem was pointed out to me by a driver in a car who let me know my brakelight didnt work. after that it took about a week of frustration to finally resolve the problem for good. even dropped my bike in the dirt a couple days ago and thought for sure that would jar it loose but it still works. got my bike april 10th and now have 2200 miles on it. my kenda 270 came in just in time. ok guys stay safe.

Hey all,

I have NOT had this problem. Mine works fine and I have not replaced the bulb. However, when I installed the light to the finder and put the bulb in, it did not work. So what I did was take the stock bulb out of the old tail light and use it instead of the on that came with the Acerbis tail light. That might be the issue... Not sure.. but like I said No problems with mine... its great... bright and out of the way of mud holes that might rip the thing off...

Stock light!!!

Hey Gravy could you give me the Muzzy part number or a link, I am in a hurry and don't have time to search for it. I think I am going to get the dealer to order all the stuff and go for it. What jet parts do I need? I want to print it out and walk in to the dealer and say order this and do the work. Hmmm maybe I should read the sticky posts. But either way I am gonna open it up. Oh and where did you get the decals for the forks and swing arm?
