Ims tank leaking

Default Ims tank leaking

Received my new tank today but I'm am unable to stop it leaking from the main outlet. Did anyone else have this trouble I replaced the normal larger o ring which is 10mm with the smaller supplied o ring but it still leaks tried the one the was standard still no luck even tried both together. O rings are not split please help

Did you use it just on the tread or around the o ring I have tried all from just seated to locked down and it still weaps

Try being much more gentle with tightening it down. If you snug it down too much, the O-ring deforms and is squished out from the surfaces....it's actually easy to see if you watch while you tighten it. Unless you've contorted your O-rings too much, it should still be usable.

Loctite makes a product called PST.
it is a pipe thread sealant that is fuel proof.
That is what i used because i had the same problem with the "O" ring squish under light pressure. I didn't care for the fact that the fitting was just over finger tight to seal, and a little more tight it leaked.

Angry Returning tank

Sending tank back to ims for replacement. After spending $50 on various sealers and new o rings I have not been able to stop leak. Had a mechanic mate blow compressed air into tank and spray around leak with soapy water , it appears leak is between brass insert and plastic surrounding it. Freight back to the states $75.00
Any one else had to send there's back .

I thought mine was leaking but I just didn't put the pinch clip on the fuel line / petcock on far enough no more gas scented garage.

Mine hasn't leaked a drop.
