If Y'all Are Interested
Most of you know I frequent more than a single motorcycle forum board.
On one of those, KLR650.net, we have a Southeast Forum. This forum has come together and is the most active group of riders I have even been involved with. Out in my driveway while working on KLR650's, we came up with the start of the activity, "Tour de Duck" that happened in September of 2005. The name "Tour" came from the fact that one of the organizers is a bicycle rider and a fan of Lance Armstrong's. Since "Tour de France" has just completed and Lance won a record 7th race, he wanted to name it his honor. It was held up at Ducktown, Tennessee (yes there is such a place, honestly!) and it was off and running from there.
Another friend and member of the forum, wanted to get something going down in Florida when y'all can't ride - January in some colder climates. So "Tour de Apalachicola" came into being and we had a ball. Everyone wanted more, so we came up with "Tour de Tellico" and now there's going to be "Tour de Pisgah". Here's the info:
Ok folks the moment you have all been waiting for the "Tour de Pisgah" will be held at Blue Ride Motorcycle Campground on October the 20th, 21st, & 22nd in Canton, North Carolina. That's a Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Most of the folks are KLR650 riders, but at "Tour de Tellico" there were 4 KLX250S's in attendance. Matter of fact, if you ride a dualsport bike, y'all are welcomed!
Because of my new position, I can only get one day off. I will be superslabbing on the Strom up there early Friday morning and heading back Sunday for work on Monday.
Hope to see all of y'all there!
