I replaced the rear spring and just ordered fork springs. I dealt with moto-pro up around Seattle. If your looking for an upgrade they are a pleasure to deal with. The rear spring really made a difference can't wait for the fork springs.

I am interested in upgrading front shocks, when I saw this I did some digging correct me if I am wrong but I looked at random parts diagram for KX 125, Kx250,Klx300and Klx250s and noted we all have the same triple trees does this mean we can swap out forks because on ebay they list 125 and 250 kx forks are the same. If so does that mean you have to get a different brake calipers also? or will are stock calipers fit.

None are the "same" as only the 250s has the headlight mount & ignition switch built in. The KXs also have rubber mount bars I think.

But you can swap sticks & am sure the trees will work but not "same".

Only 94-95 KX. Older are 41mm, newer are 46mm.

the 94-95 was 125/250. The 500 may use 43mm longer.

Hmmmm... I don't have a lathe and I'm not a machinist, so I guess I'll pass on this. The rest of you can have at it. I'll enjoy all the pics and write-ups.

'89 KX125 european model forks will fit the KLX.The only reason I know this is i checked my KX in the garage. My KX is an '89 euro model with the 19" rear wheel and was an oddball bastard model to find in the U.S. which would prolly put a damper on this swap. The forks are also anodized blue.I'm assuming they are Kayaba or Showa but I have not looked that far into it yet as i was just having a beer considering this possible swap last week. The only reason being is that the suspension is sweet on the 125 after the previous owner had a spring and valve change.I never checked the braking part of it out yet.....Kinda lost interest some.....getting cold and rainy here and i'm relaxin'....LOL.

I know this may sound like old news, but there is a proven upgrade for our suspension. Jerry Leighton with Four Stroke Works is THE suspension expert when it comes to the KLX. Others can make them work, of course, but Jerry probably has more experience than most or all on our bike...and he's reasonable. Check him out at : http://www.fourstrokeworks.biz/
or give him a call at: 760-948-0325. Tell Val that Bill sent you.
And no, I don't work for Jerry, nor do I draw a commission. I have had the pleasure of meetingJerry and his wife, Val at their home when I took my suspension to him for a re-do. Awesome folks and awesome work.
