How is the suede holding up. It looks great!
Hey Jim, the seat is pretty much brand new so no report on how its holding up. It actually has some dirt on it now. [] But honestly I'm not worried about it. While the suede is super pimp, it's purpose is not so much for looks but its other properties. It's arguable the perfect material for just the right grip, even when wet, and also has great breathability. I was surprised at how cool it felt on my last ride and it was very hot that day. If it does get muddy or dirty, you just hose it off. Some folks use Scotchguard or similar. But it has a layer of closed cell foam next to the outer cover, so water will not soak in. I realize it won't look like new forever, but it's good to know that you can still treat it like a dirt bike and it will hold up and still look decent without babying it. So far it is working great and I'm very happy with it.

I rode mine today and could not touch the seat after sitting in the sun just long enough to drink a bottled water.

I was looking at the manual for the bike and it sure has to be maintained much more than the KLX. (three oil filters including the one in the drain plug!) Valves are much easier todo though.Looks like I'll be a Kawasaki and a KTM mechanic now. **** I should open up ashop.
