I GOT IT !!
Hey Marty, I actually rode my bike to work, (2 miles) but the sky looks dark, in fact it got darker after I got to work...YIKES!! Oh well. Hey I was just kidding about the hurricanes, but maybe not a good thing to joke about given the recent disasters. Do you carry a hydration pack when you ride? Where I live we get 200 inches of rain a year, but mostly in the winter, then we have mild to warm weather in the spring and summer. No snakes, or piosionous spiders, no floods, or hurricanes, no earthquakes, (that might change anytime) and no extreme weather. But I think the rain keeps all of the folks from California from moving here. But what is interesting about Western Washington, is that if you drive a hour and a half north east from here to Sequim Wa the rainfall is something like 20 inches a year. The housing is exploding!! There are 3-4 400 house develempments going up right now. No thanks I'll stick with my little town and plenty of places to ride. I'm still waiting for a chance to go off road more. There are several reasons that I haven't taken the bike too far off the pavement, 1-I don't want to get the bike dirty, just kidding....sort of. I know I will eventually have to get her dirty, 2-it's been raining here for the past few weeks. and 3-I am waiting for other guys I know to plan a ride here, but they have been too busy. I don't really like to ride alone, especially since it's been 20 years since I have done any off road ridding. It would be nice to have someone else with me in case something happens. I am also considering 2 more bikes. One for my wife, and one for my 9 year old. It would be great to share this experience with them as well. Of course they would have to be Kawasaki bikes too. Later and take care down there. Hey if I ever get to Neah Bay, which is the most northwest point in the continential US I will get a picture posted here. It's an hour from my house. Does the picture count if my bike isn't in it? LOL later all.

Deej,
Not a problem - I knew you were kidding about the hurricanes. In all actuality, I should have said they are a big PITA! No one should move to Florida as you might get wiped out!
The state has gotten way too crowded! When I moved here in 1974, the total population of Florida was 2.1 million. About 90% of that lived along the southeastern coast. Very few around where I live.
Fortunately, I chose correctly where to build a house. We live in a small town, population of about 4000. It's on the south side of the Ocala National Forest, so it not only provides a great place to ride, but more importantly, it keeps folks from moving into the area.
Our biggest problem is the freezes that killed off much of the citrus groves. The grove owners have decided to sell much of that land to recoup their losses. No, the folks that build there are not growers, but homesteaders!
I like a small town, no crowds, no traffic and just a beautiful surroundings. It's nice to live in such an environment.
I've been to Washington, over in Spokane. Not a bad place that Spokane.
Ride and enjoy! That's what it's all about.
