stoppies with out a steering stabilzer = bad news....

I had a OH **** moment yesterday on the klx... i was following my buddy on his ktm620 he turned left across traffic, so i down shifted i guess 1 too many gears, rear end locked up and kicked out as i was turning in front of 2 lanes of traffic... YIKES.... but experience was on my side... im sure it looked sweet.... first time i ever "drifted" the trakmaster on asphalt...

IMO.... the MSF was useless.... experience is wayy better.. MSF was a waste of my time... id like to take the advanced course though.... Wanna learn how your bike is going to react? go play in the snow....

I must say I disagree with you on this issue. I had nearly a decade of riding experience in rural Oklahoma when I went to college and quit riding. When I took the MSF basic course, the "walking" and real "entry level" stuff wasn't helpful but, everything else was a good use of my time. I learned stuff there that has saved me scuffed motorcycle parts and a few scrapes on my body.

Understanding the "textbook" physics of doing what you do is very enlightening. I use stuff I learned/relearned in the MSF course everyday.
