Default How many mi. b4 exhaust/intake mods?

How many miles should should be ran before any pipe/carb/jetmodifications be done?

It's coming up on the first service @ 600 miles, thinking to aim for that.

I found the power stock very sad- I had all the free mods done at 50 miles- header- slip on at 300 miles- fcr carb at 600 miles big bore kit at 900 miles.

Now it goes great

RG,

I think all these guys are right. If you think about it allthey did was equip the bike the way we all wish Kawi had done to start with from the factory, and went from there. Can't imagine breaking in a deconstricted, properly modded bike is any different from a stocker.

I've decided to go a little different route purely out of personal preference. My '07 had less than 500 miles on the ODO when I got two months ago and I decided to wait on performance mods more out of curiosity than anything else. Wanted to see what a broken in stock bike would have in terms of performance. And I have to say that it seems that in the last 600 miles the bike has loosened up a bit. So now I have a baseline.

The HMF pipe I bought from bake is on it's way and the Kouba screw is in hand. Dynojet kit is also en route. Have decided on a KDX snorkel instead of removing/modifying the stock airbox and still considering sprocket options. But I've also decided that before I do any significant performance mods I'm gonna spend some time sorting out the suspension to suit me. Feels a little soft all the way around but a particular concern is front spring dive. If I can't adjust it to suit it'll be time for some stiffer springs.

Good luck on your mods and have a blast.....
