Default How many KM do you normally wait to check valve's and such?

Wondering what the general rule of thumb is for the KLX250s? My 07 has about 22,000km on it. Those are Island miles so likely lower RPM and cruising.

I plan to do a full checkup myself next weekend, but wanted to get a idea of how these bikes handle the hours/Km. I'm tossing some trail tires on her this weekend as well so most of my miles will be trail/hill climbing.

Thanks in advance, tried doing a search for information, but I prefer to get tailored info for "my" bike and not whatever else was posted for across the web

Thanks!

According to the owner's manual, you should be due for a second valve check at 24,000km.
I'm at 17000 miles, I too need to crack her open and check, but she runs and starts fine. And I run the crap outta mine.
In fact, I've got to go beat on her for a little bit, then go get some oil, filter, spark plug, and air filter oil. Then stop at Whitehorse Gear for their Open House and free BBQ, all while trying to not spend money on gear!

riding mostly 75+ mph highways...my valves were out of spec at 8,900 miles...i think you are suppose to check/adjust every 8,000 miles (12,500 km)...i just decided to randomly check every 6,000 miles (ever other oil change)....

Good luck with that.

I would fear setting foot in their door. Lots of toys/good stuff!! Haven't been in the store but get the catalogue, have shopped online.
