I carry and use the standard issue 2" wide yellow Home Depot tie down ratchet....works like a champ. Saved me two times now.

As others have pointed out, UK spec bikes have Fuel Injection. Seems to be a pretty waterproof unit !!

How deep have I gone? Up to the top of the engine. Other times, I sunk the rear tire till the exhuast was under water. But the intake remained above the water.
