JB1, the more you take the bike apart, the more it might pay for its self in free tools

That XL is sweet! I remember when the XL line started. I have always thought they were some of the coolest bikes. Everyone of them were street legal all the way down to the XL70! (my first real motorcycle with a clutch) Why did Honda quit making all the cool dual-purpose bikes?

Wow that came out sweet looking, that thing is badass[8D]
Could'nt have said it better myself. Looks fantastic. I really like the paint scheme. Of all the bikes I've had, I've never split the case on one. I admire you. (In a hetro kind of way []).

JB1, I got really lucky. This bike was virtually unmolested as far as any cobbling or back yard customizing. Everything was pretty much stock, it had just been rode hard and neglected.

EvildoerZX10R, I know what you're talking about. The decade of the 80's were Honda's best performing years. The XL lines, FL lines, anything with the "R" suffix was something to be reckoned with. When you stop and think about how long the 250R quad was the fastest thing out there. It just is unreal. The Pilots that I have are phenomenal machines, they were way ahead of there time in '89. It seems that Honda sat back in the 90's and let everybody catch up and now they are no better that anyone else. I still like Hondas but they don't seem to have that "edge" that they once had.
