Yes, the KLX250s head pipe is sized for a 250 not a 300.

I'm quite happy to read your positive report on the HMF system.

I've been putting off making a decision - can't make up my mind.

There are just so many choices out there from the $79.99 EBay full system to those costing over $400.

I think the HMF comes in right in the middle of those in cost. I think it might be the logical choice. I had contacted them about the "Quiet" option. Also asked if they had performed any testing on it. They did another dyno run and found out there was an almost unmeasurable amount of power difference between the two units.

The price to HMF forum members is discounted over the others.

I might just have to be the second one here to order one of their systems.

BTW, whenever I built street motors for my hot rods, I always went with the smaller choice on intake valves and intake runners. They make all sorts of power in the "driving range" on the street. I'm betting the same thing happens here. I really don't care about 2 tenths of a horsepower at 10,000, but I sure am interested in a half foot pound of torque at about 4000 rpm!

Works for me.

Never said they don't make more power. However I did say they make more power in the range your bike is used in when riding, the 4000 to 8000 rpm range.



Anyone can take an engine a dyno and start making power at a specific rpm. When you are making tractable power across the entire rpm range, now that takes a bit more talent.



This is a situation where we're both completely correct.

Just to correct something Iowaguy, the Staintune is very high quality, hence the price and while I haven't seen the KLX system I have seen other Staintunes and they do NOT discolour.
