Hey Boyz! Got pulled over by the Fuzz today....
And they told me my bike wasnt registered? I said WTF? I bought the bike brand new off Kawasaki 3 months ago mate your kidding right? His reply was do you know an unregisted vehicle is a fine of $150 on the spot. Turns out they let me go and after ringing my Kawasaki dealer he told me the paper work had just gone through about 10 mins ago. I asked him about why it took 90 days because by law it should only take 14 days from purchase of vehicle to go through ( In australia that is). His reply was these things take time LOL, yea right mate. I wasnt happy with my first service either, becauseI asked them to remove the snorkel and they kept it. IfI didnt go back and ask for it I would never have seen it again. Also they threaded one of the bolts on the left side cover which I said nothing about because it just wasnt worth it. I really dont want to deal with these guys again but need to because I have a 1yr wrty on the bike and to keep itI must go through them. Guess I will just have to hold my breath and hope for the best until that period ends. Any advice out there on this or similar experiences?
I've seen that deal with the registration first-hand. My sister bought a used car from a dealership, paid for the taxes, registration, plate, etc. She got a pink slip (temporary registration - only good for 60 days), but never got her permanent registration card. Over time, she forgot about it. About 6 months later, she's stopped at a DUI check point, and the copssay her temp. registration not only expired, butwas invalid in the first place becausethe plate # was never recorded. She not only got a $92.50 fine, but they wouldn't let her drive home without a valid plate- they made her get it towed! [:@]
Turns out, the dealer took the car on a trade, but never sent the paper work in (and kept the money). He then sold the car to her, but never sent the paper work in (and kept her money). Her car was still in the name of the person who traded it in! The dealership was doing this with everyone and was put out of business (and the owner in jail). It was a real paperwork nightmare with not only the state, but with the bank too.
Since you said the dealership is kinda shady in other areas too, I'd be leary. Keep on them until your paperwork comes in the mail. I don't know who you'd call in Australia to confirm that the paper work was sent in, but I'd find out if I were you.

I picked up my klx Jan 2nd. I just got my new title in the mail today. Also got a thank-you card from my dealer. Great bunch. If you come through Abilene, Texas stop by Max's M/C.
