I'm just amazed at how much better the 09s must be.. You could get it straight up in 2nd gear. I can't even do that on my KTM 250

Yeah, the combustion chamber is twice as big. But mines a slug. MCM is my last hope. Unless I'm overlooking another cheap mod.

That's gives me some hope that you were in first. If it had more pull right when i twist the throttle I could see it getting up. But my bike is lacking that immediate throttle response. It'll start moving immediately but the torque just isn't there. Takes a few seconds to hit around 5k before it starts moving half decent

Yeah, you'll certainly need to be running a higher starting speed than I was because of your stock cam timings. It is not out-of-the-question that, without MCM, the engine won't ramp-up TRQ fast enough to power wheelie - from any starting speed..

It seems to bog when I twist it from a stand still. Mcm will fix this yes? Only problem is I will start running out of torque at a lower rpm? Right now it seems like it starts running out around 9k

You are not overlooking any other "cheap mod" .. Once you are running MCM, DJ140/2N, lidless with the stock header and your FMF silencer, you have all the engine can give.. Add a powerbomb or megabomb, rejet to DJ144/1N, and you pick up a very noticeable increase from 6.5k to 10.5K rpm..

If you have a bog when snapping WOT from 3.5-4K then there could be something wrong with your fuel screw setting/pilot jet/pilot circuitry.. That system provides "bog mitigation" when snapping to WOT from low RPM..

If you have a bog when sitting still in neutral, you definitely have something wrong..

Ok. What idle speed do you suggest?

Spec idle speed is 1,300 +/- 50 rpm. A quote from IDRIDR on an older thread..
