I have the flat black one with a really dark lense...and a lighter lense...... great helmet.....

 

i thought i saw that someone wrote that they got their shield for free on the clearance helmet which is only $69 do u know if this is true? how much extra was ur shield on the newer style?

 

My helmet was like 120$ i think.... then the $135 forshield there is some things they have to do at the factory to put the shield on....

 

I got my Simpson GS3 helmet on sale for $69, but that was just the helmet. I paid an extra $100 for the shield, for a total $169. Still, it was way cheaper than an Arai XD. Not as nice, but cheaper.

That Airoh helmet is a pretty cheap looking piece (plastic shell), better then nothing but I'd hold out for s Snell rated lid if it were me.

The Simpson GS3 is hard to beat for the money.

 

This brand has about the same quality as an Arai XD, but$100.00 cheaper. The lowest priced one (less snazzy graphics) is about $270.00 Not as thrifty as a Simpson, but if you're partial to the feel of an Arai, this helmet will give the XD a run for the money.

Araimakes awesome helmets. My riding is mainly on the tarmac, so I was looking at the Arai Profile because of the 'long oval shape' (my anglo shaped head gets a serious hot spot on the forehead from round shaped helmets.) The only other long oval shaped helmet that I know of are made my Shark. The SharkRSI full face that I bought is every bit as comfortable as my old Arai..and I had money left over to buy a dark face shield. Plus it has a cool looking hologram design on each side
