That's funny. Some say it's easy, some say its a complete pain. I picked up inexpensive Tusk bars which others said would bend easy, but they haven't (yet...). Gave my stock bars to a co-worker with an '07 who had bent bars.

 

I would just replace the bars. I ended up with rental 7/8 rc971-08 bars which fit perfectly and a set of Acerbis pro rally (i think) hand guards. Both took a good beating in Spain this year and are still fine.
