FYI you dont have to go with actual "bark busters" brand. I do think they are some of the best, but I have the MOOSE brand handguards ( barkbusters) and i have beat the **** out of them. I think they are around $50 for a set.

I had the inexpensive Tusk brand from Rocky Mountain ATV on for a while before picking up some lightly used Barkbusters from another KF member. No complaints on the Tusks.

I really like the way Barkbusters look compared to some of the other brands. Additionally, I haven't heard a bad thing about them. That's why I am looking at getting the Barkbuster brand specifically.

I used Moose Racing as well. I drlled the wieghts on the handlebar ends and attempted to tap in threads. I wound up breaking two taps. Next step: I removed the weights and had a buddy weld the provided nuts to the inside. The guards bolted up perfect and I'm lovin life. Note: the Moose guards I bought require you to drill into the frames in order to mount the plastic guards. Drill through the guards and use zip-ties to hold the guards. Drilling thought the frame will give it a weak spot at the holes. Frames were $38.00 and the plastic guards were $12.00.

Thanks for all of the great info and resources!! Unfortunately, I still have stock handlebars... I'm kicking around the idea of just ordering a new set of pro tapers (or some other brand) along with the guards, and then just keeping my stock bars as emergency backups. It sounds like quite a hassle to deal with the weights in the ends of the stocks.
