Great 90/10 tires for the KLX 250S?

A LOT of riders out here in the desert run Kenda 270's. It's almost like a "trials tire", due to the soft carcass, but, wears pretty darn well. It can get you through fairly deep sand, especially if you have your speed up...but, the 606 is better if you are hillclimbing in sand....up to a point. At some point, you need actual sand scoop tires.
Anyway, my ONLY complaint about the 270 is one of the good things about it...soft carcass. That soft carcass means it's a bit harder to limp out of the desert on a flat tire, but, that same softness helps soak up some of the bumps. I actually corner on it as agressively as I care to on the road, but, the guys that really push tires say it's too squirrelly on the road....probably because the ***** are pretty deep, and, apparently fairly hard; that's why it wears pretty well.
Compromise, compromise. That's what you get with a Dual-Sport!

Did you go with the 120 on the rear Jim?

First tire was a 120( I think) or maybe a 110. I went with a 140 for replacement and i think i will neck back to 130 when this one gets replaced. I belive this tire has the silica built into the tread like the Goodyear MTR tires I have on my truck. I am a firm beliver that that silica adds both traction and long wear properties.

Pirelli is getting better reviews then the kenda on wet pavement. The weather can be a bit odd on the parkway in the summer, so these might be the ticket. I'm not seeing a 130 rear tire though Jim, 120 should be fine. How does the 140 handle and fit on the bike?

I dont notice any differnce in performance as far as acceleration but logic says more mass to spin takes more power from the road. It fits fine and looks pretty good but I thought I would go with 130. I did not realise there was not 130 so I would probably go with 140 again since I know it works and I am thinking it must be more grip in certin situations than the 120. I think either would be fine and of course the 120 would be cheeper.
