I don't know if I am just really behind on technology, but if you guys don't know about it I would highly recommend to check out the google earth download!! I have found a ton of trails that I can ride to on my bike that are right beside my house that I have never known about!!. Its a great little program. I have also found a ton of lakes that I never knew of before that I am now going fishing in, alot of out of the way places no one knows about!

 

I've had this for a while. I can see my house from outer space, how neat is that? Hehe. I don't know when they took the 'snapshots' but they sure don't update them often so it's not real time or anything like that but it's still hella cool.

 

Ya, I believe that the pictures are over 2 years old, because there are alot of neighborhoods there which on that picture are nothing but woods, but it is pretty cool, I can get so close I can see each individual line on the power lines. But its scattered for some reason. Some highly populated areas are so crisp you can make out the individual cars by zooming in, the places out in the mountains are really crappy pictures and you can't get see any better zooming past an airplanes point of view, I wish everything was always crystal clear so that I could scope out a ton of trails in the North Georgia mountains.

That is cool! I have used something like that before to check out local trails. The links are below. I use Photoshop to piece a dozen or so images together so I have a huge map of the area. I have some nice images of cool spots!
