i think my tank has sprung a leak (very slight, maybe a droplet hits the floor every few hours) at the mounting point described in the recall. is this something a skilled, safe, welder can fix or is a visit to the dealer 100% necessary in this case?

 

Can definitely be fixed but I would just use it as an excuse to install a IMS tank.

give the dealer a call. The recall may still be open.
