full muzzy exhaust jetting
Ahh, you don't have to spend any effort into thinking about troubleshooting. you've got us for that.. But to answer both your questions, no.
I'm pretty sure I know what's happening, but troubleshooting work must always be done in a carefully orchestrated order.
I need to know the results of the idle&Kouba adjustments I am asking you to do, and please (as always) do them in the order I specified - set idle down first, then do the Kouba adjustment..

Ok It's idleing at the 1,200 bar. Hard to say if it's 1200 or 1250 since it only does 1,000 increments.Turned in the Kouba screw about two full turns or so ,idle dropped then turned it out one full turn and it's holding. Going to take it out for a test and let you know. Thank you! Man that Kouba screw is handy. Well worth $20.
Ok. Holding steady at 1,250 RMP's on idle. Think that did the trick. Few more soft burbles when downshifting at high RPM's but no loud pop's or lags anywhere. Kouba screw at 2 full turns out!
500 feet above sea level.

Well as long is it doesn't hurt anything, the burbling is fine with me. Any other pros-cons with putting in a #40 pilot? I'm super happy with this mod. I'll check the plug and make sure all is well. Twin or uni filter coming soon. I motocamp at 5,500 feet in the summer. Should I consider adjusting the Kouba screw when going up this high? I guess this question could be in another thread but I I'll give it a shot. Owe you a case of beer for all your help!

All the Kouba or stock fuel screw does is control the air/fuel mixture for idle - nothing more, nothing less.. You probably won't be touching your Kouba screw again as your stock pilot jet will be hard pressed to overfuel your idle even at 5500 ft ASL.. None the less, if your idle quality degrades at 5500 ft,, you can screw the Kouba IN until idle sounds better..
Get the #40 pilot if you wish. Throttle response will be a little snappier with it..
The CVK self adjusts for higher elevations.. BUT CANNOT adjust for lower elevations - so, if rejetted (leaner) for 5500 ft, it will go extremely lean as you go lower.. Leave your carb setup and jetting alone..

I don't know exactly what "burbling" is.. Decel popping example: 6000 rpm, third gear, steady speed, close the throttle and downshift into 2nd gear. As the engine slows the bike, the exhaust pops.
