Default Forks issue

Hello,

I think I broke the spring in the left front fork. Bike’s stance is now lower and when you bounce the front end you can hear the spring. No leaks.

My question to you is, what kind of rebuild kit should I be looking at? I’d like a stiffer spring, I ride it pretty aggressive.

Its a 2009 SF so it has the upside down forks (inverted).

There are many suspension tuners out there that can order you new fork springs. Stock spring rate are .37 from what I’ve seen owners spring rates can vary by weight n riding style going up to a .48
Best to get info from a pro

Heck, I’ve got .56~.64 springs in mine.

OP, I really doubt you broke a spring, though I suppose it’s possible.

I’m not certain what the problem could be, but you could remove the fork cap and have a quick look at the spring. Ideally remove the fork first. You’ll be able to get a good look at the spring. But if that’s not within your skill confidence level, then yeah, take it to a suspension pro and let them have a look.

Before the fork is removed, at least loosen the top cap while the fork is still in place.
