Default Trail Tech Vapor install question

I'm getting ready to install the vapor computer on my '06 KLX this weekend and had a question about the temp sensor. I remember reading that for the '06-'07 KLXs that you could get a sensor from Trail Tech that just screws into the radiator. I'd much prefer to go this route and avoid cutting into any hoses if possible.

I'm just confused as to which sensor to order from Trail Tech (I thought it was the M6x1.0 sensor https://www.trailtech.net/v300-001) and where it screws into the radiator at. I seem to recall someone saying it goes into the top of the left side radiator but when I measured the bolt on mine it was about a M10 size (PN 92002 on the diagram)?

Just hoping to get some definitive answers as to what I need to do and where it goes before I get halfway into the install this weekend. I've tried to search through here and elsewhere to find where I originally saw this but can't seem to find it anymore.

I think some have pulled the coolant temp sensor from the lower end of the left radiator and put the TT sensor in place.
I cut the hose exiting the engine's left side. This is probably the best place to get an accurate coolant temperature reading.

It would be interesting to see which location provides the most accurate reading. I’ve cut radiator hoses without increasing the risk of failure, how does one mount a sensor like the one in the link?
There’s a chance I will be doing this also but on a friends wr450f

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm just going to end up cutting into the outlet hose from the engine. I'd prefer to not hijack the over temp sensor because I'm assuming that shuts the engine off if it gets too hot? As far as installing the one in the link, it usually just replaces a drain bolt like the one I pointed out on the top of the left radiator (or wherever it's located). Just as long as it's the same thread size it would fit.

RaceGass, my vapor came with this:

LFR, I don't think our radiators have drain plugs. The one on top is for filling the left radiator. It may work but I don't think I'd want my sensor at the top of the tank.

Our bikes have two temp sensors. IIRC, the one on the left tank triggers the high temp indicator lamp on the dash. It won't shut the bike down. The one on right tank triggers the radiator fan.

Ah, I gotcha now. Definitely makes more sense. I don't think TT makes a sensor big enough to fit that left radiator fill bolt, I measured it to be about a M10x1.25. I have the same kit so mine also came with the inline temp sensor but I was debating on ordering the bolt type sensor I linked earlier if I could find a good spot for it. As I said, probably just going to end up cutting into the outlet hose to just be done with it.
