Default Added my Vapor..

Yesterday.

Here is few pics. of the install. I have not gotten the water sensor hooked up because the wires are a bit short. I need to deal with that one next. The rest of it works great. I have a picture of how I made the SS mounting bracket. I wanted the vapor over to the left side to cover the speedo, which no longer works because I pulled the speedo cable out.

Same here - I cut the wires and spliced in about a 6 inch or so section, soldered and shrink wrapped.

What temps. does your bike run at, normal and worst case?

I was going to do the same thing to my sensor wires. They don't look all that special compared
to the cyl. temp gauge I have on another meter.

Default RE: Added my Vapor..

I've got my coolant sensor on the hot side of the radiator, i.e., on the left in between the engine and the radiator. This is sensing the coolant as it is leaving the engine. Results will vary greatly if you put your sensor on the right side since it will be sensing the coolant temperature as it is cooled down and leaving the radiators and getting read to flow back into the engine.

On the hot side, mine reads as follows:

* pavement, plenty of air flow, medium to high speed: 150 F

* trails, lowish speed, reasonable air flow: 170 - 190 F

* off-road, low speed, slow trails, bush whacking, not much air: 200 - 215 F

My radiator fans kick on at about 206 F or thereabouts. I set my Vapor's yellow warning light to 208. My high temp light comes on at 229F so that's where I set my read warning light to kick on.

There are problably variations from sensor to sensor, Vapor sensors as well as the KLX's fan and high temp light sensor, so these values may not coincide exactly with what you see.
