Default fork seals: myself or stealership

so i just did my 600 mile service, and my fork seal is definaly leaking. should i invest in the tools and do it my self or just take it to the stealer ship. i have only had this bike maybe 3 weeks now and i dont see how the seals are alreadly bad, and the shop i got the bike at says there not under warranty. i have looked into doing them my self and it doesnt look to hard, but i definally looks like quite a process. the tools looks like it would cost around 150, plus the seals. im guessing the stealer ship wants about 200 labor + parts or am i wrong. what the heck should i do?

At 600 miles, it is probably not a bad seal, but dirt under the wiper. A lot of guys use a "seal mate" which is just a plastic strip that you wipe under the wiper ring to get the dirt out. You can use a business card also. Try that before seals. Once you are convinced it is a seal, let the dealership do it, the new inverted forks are a bitch.

600 mile service and it's not under warranty? That doesn't seem right.
I had the fork seals go on my new '07 within 3 weeks of putting it on the road, and the "stealership" covered it all under warranty EXCEPT for the disposal cost (Enviromental cost) for getting rid of the fork 'oil' (Cost me, like maybe $10.00)

im going to try the busness card trick tonight. ill get a chance to ride it tomarrow when i go to work so ill see if it helps at all. i think eather way ill need to add fluid. well at least the bike seems to run better than before the oil change.

edit

i just tryed to clean the seal with a tear off and a .005 mm feeler gauge. i would clean it after pump the suspention to see if it worked. after the 3 try it seamed pritty dry. i only did the dust seal, not the true seal underneath, is this right. it also is making a thud when compressed, is this normal or a bad sign.

I replaced my seals recently and it was not all that hard and you don't need special tools. I looked around at several other post and found some instructions and pics to follow. I used a piece of black ABS plastic drain pipe for a seal driver. I just cut a piece off about4-5 inches long and then cut a section out of it length wise to let it slip over the fork tube. Then I used a wooden wedge and mallet to drive the seal down into place.
I'll look and see if I can find the info that I used.

read down a bit and there is a pretty good set of instructions

I know I also found some good info and pics on this site about changing fork seals using the search tools but I did not save those.

Several people had a piece of blue tape on their forks that the factory forgot to remove. This was causing a leak and once peeled off, all was cool.
