Default Fork seals

So I rebuilt my forks and during the process I looked at my YZ manual and Yamaha recommends packing the dust seal with white lithium grease. Does anyone do this on the KLX? I didn’t see it in the manual anywhere..

I've seen this occasionally over time with some fork seal and some manuals. I don't think it's really necessary, but it does help with keeping the new seals slick during break-in. I just make sure the new seals are completely wet with oil on the inside/underneath when installing. The thing I don't like about grease is that it attracts more dirt than fork oil, and some of the grease film will get on the fork legs. Still, with the grease or the full oil soaking you gave the seals, you can just be quick to wipe off the excess during the first break-in ride.

thanks TNC, I will do a dab and leave it at that, kind of thought it would be a dirt magnet and cause more harm than good.
