yeah, ive seen cases of bike that come in the shop that have been just beaten up and used car oil,, never use car oil, second, Im going to call bs on car oil cant cause slippage, , car oil cause remauture Cellulose plate breakdown, this causing slippage, and even in some cases drag, then if you a badd azz, you still ride the bike around clutching it up all the time then you get to pay people to replace your cluch, plates, springs, and a new basket bc all of that feathering notched the basket, nowunless someone here is growing money trees, spead the extra money for the oil that Kawi says to run, then dont just pick oil out of a hat theres reasons,

I'd wait until you have at least 1200 miles on the engine before using synthetic!

+1 on Stellar's "How come?"

I changed my oil at three hundred miles, for no reason other than I wanted to figure out how to do it right while I had a mechanical buddy in town. Think I put in synthetic.

Also, that grease trick sounds weird, isn't it bad to have that grease in the oil?

There is the theory that engine surfaces must first "mate" with one another before using synthetic oil. Pistons to cylinder walls, cams/bearings, etc. Synthetic supposedly too slippery to permit proper mating. Thus buring more oil over the engine's lifetime.

But, I know that many cars and bikes come from the factory now running systhetic.

Go figure.

That makes sense I guess. Myself I'm not having any sort of problems with my bike. So whatever I did worked.

Actually just a few, very high-performance bikes and cars are coming from the factory with synthetic oil - so my brother the mechanic says.
