Default Factory tail light always burning out??

Anyone have this problem? I have the 2010 model with the factory tail light and the tail light part of it keeps burning out. I still have the break light part but thats it. I only have 2800 kms on the bike and I have replaced the bulb 4 times now.
I will probably look at getting the edge tail kit anyway but man its annoying.

Whatever is causing it to burn out that often will also probably cause problems with any taillight you put on including the edge......

Voltage regulator problem, or is it slamming around and breaking the filaments. SHould be secured with grommets that allow some movement, but not a lot.

Sounds like a warranty issue, take it to your dealership have them take a look?

Ya it is secured with grommets...so it shouldnt be knocking around too much. I have to take it in to the dealer for the recall anyway so I guess I will get them to take a look at it then.

Yeah I went through bulbs in my Acerbis Dual Sport taillight about once every 3 months. I finally stopped by the Carquest store and picked up some heavy duty brake lights. That was over 2 years ago, and I'm still on the same bulb. For me I think it was the vibration on the logging roads. I think the heavy duty bulbs have thicker filaments.

I beat the b-junior out of mine the last time I was out. Gravel, rock gardens, bumps, bumps, bumps... rocks, and more rocks... all-around rough trails. Maybe I should check to see if mine is still working. Took a pretty good dump too... that should have broken just about any filament. I can't imagine it taking any more abuse than I gave it that day... when I broke my collar bone.
