Even if I were to buy a DS...
Get the bike. You will find places to ride it. I didn't think there were places to ride but I come across them all the time. Power line roads and lakes around my area are covered with trails. I use a satellite view ( www.local.live.com ) and a GPS to find trails. Half the fun of owning a DS is being able to explore and find fun trails that you would never know about unless you could ride to them on your bike. It's Great!
Star City.
Around here I'm planning on hitting some gravel and minimum maintenance roads. There has to be some places close by, just need to root them out.
Forgot to mention earlier, if you go to the NOHVA site they detail some of the new riding areas that were recently funded by the game and parks commission. Sounds like they are building a mx track out by Abbot park which is only about 5 miles from my house. The other ones are in south central Ne and probably require a weekend trip.

You got a deal like that from Star city? After buying my 250R from them, I told myself I'd never go back there. Those people just treated me like dog s*it.[:'(] Sorry but they pissed me off.
Anyway, I read about that track being built in an article. But if there are no real trails around here, I think I'm gonna put the DS on hold for a while.

You have to have hunting in that state, right? Typically those areas will have tons of dirt roads to go riding on. Just as someone else suggested, just go riding. Do some exploring and you will come across something to ride on.
