Default Drilling the slide ...

Please bear with me. I've read wheresome folks recommend drilling out the slide in the carb for better throttle response for the '06-07 models. Does this still hold true to form for the '09 model? Can anyone point me to a link which explains this and possibly illustrates it with a photo or two? Thanks!

It should be no different. Drill the only hole without a needle in it. 7/64 or #32 is what DJ recommends.

If you are going to pull the carb to "drill the slide" why not install a dyno jet kit at the same time? It comes with the drill bit and new jets. This with opening up the air box, and other free mods, really wakes the bike up.

EMS_0525: Great post and pics, thanks!

daveg: Yes, I'm doing all of the other common carb mods, too.
