Default Does Re-Jetting Invalidate Warranty?

I need to get a #40 Pilot Jet and I am thinking about just getting it straight from my local dealer. The shop is about 1.5 minutes from where I work and I would rather not pay $8 shipping to RonAyers.com for a $7 part.

My concern is that if the dealer knows I am buying jets for my carb, is that going to raise some flags when I go to get some warranty work done. I know that it is better safe than sorry, so I will probably just go ahead and order from RonAyers, but I hate to waste money unless there is a good reason to.

I am kicking myself for not just going ahead and getting the #40 when I ordered my last set of stuff from RonAyers. What a moron.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Or any ideas besides BikeBandit.com where you can get OEM parts. I would like to find a full-service site where I can get all of the stuff that I need. RonAyers can get anything in the PU or TR catalogs, but their search capabilities are horrible.

Thanks,
Chris

I can't see how they could blame a pilot jet change on any kind of failure... I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I am more worried that they will blame my untrained hands in the engine on some problem that develops later. I just don't want to give them an out if I can help it.

I think I have answered my own question.

BTW, anyone have a #40 that they have decided not to use that they want to part with?

Chris

It clearly states in the manual that the bike can be rejetted for altitude compensation, it however does not state that the dealer has to be the one to do it. I took that to mean if you can jet it for altitude, then jetting to cure the stock lean condition is fair game as well.

I WOULD'NT WORRY ABOUT THE WARRANTY FOR THE REJETTING, BUT I WOULD WORRY ABOUT IT FOR REMOVING THE SMOG CRAP.
