exhaust bolt up to our bikes? I'm talking about, say, a 1996 klx250 onto my 2006 "s" version?

Yes, most aftermarket exhausts for the 300 also list the klx250. The 300 exhausts fit our bike so will the 250. If it is only a slipon you will alsoneedthe header as well, a slipon for those bikes will not fit the 250s headpipe.
