Sometimes I come across stuff that I don't need, but the price seems damn good and I buy it anyway...just in case.

So I just came across an essentially new EFI ECU for $60. Guy swapped his immediately after he bought the bike. Then sold the bike and forgot to give the old unit to the buyer. Now just wants to get rid of it.

I'm seeing one on eBay going for over $200. Would you buy it? What's the odds of needing a backup ECU? I figure at the very least I could flip it for a profit down the road...

 

Buy it, then sell it immediately on eBay. If you ever need one (unlikely) it will most likely be available on eBay for what you sold it for.
