Default Carb Quick Clean

I'm looking for a quick method to clean the carburator. I opened the drain screw and shot carb cleaner through the two vent lines. Did the cleaner go through the jets or bypass and enter the float bowl? I'm not sure how the vent lines enter and the path the carb cleaner would follow. I could have disconnected the fuel line and shot some through there but did not this time.

Thats a good way to force contaminates into your carb. You need to take the four phillips screws out of the float bowl and pull off the bowl. I would take all of the jets out individually and clean them but if your just doing preventative maintenance I guess you could just spray some carb cleaner thru the jets and vent holes.

Just be very careful of getting the carb cleaner on any of your seals. Carb cleaner will eat these up very quickly.

shooting carb cleaner through the vent holes will only clean the vent holes. you need to remove the bowl to get to the jets.

Which seals are you speaking of ?

I've never a problem with carb cleaner eating anything in the fuel system but it will make your o-rings swell up and be impossible to reinstall until you let them "dry out" for a couple of days first.
