Default carb problems

Hi. I am a newbie dealing with carbs. I have the stock carb - 250klx. Anyway I have no idea what the stock jet sizes and such are. I live in montana and I noticed on my last 2 rides going uphill and at around 6,000 ft the bike will die when I let off the throttle. It was also on bumpy off roads. So I'm looking for info to familiarize myself with the carb and what i can do to fix the problem. I'm all for pulling the carb - just looking for info before I do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Try turning your idle up a little bit.

IIRC, stock is #35 pilot and #118 main Keihin jets.

Spend some time here: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...q-links-30733/

First thing I did was turn up the idle and that didn't work.

Mine ran ok at that elev, that is not that high.

I think your carb needs cleaning. Probably better to try to adjust your air screw.

Search the forums, I forgot how to do it with the stock carb, it is APITA.

ok so I am going to remove and clean the carb. Is there any reason that I may want to change the jet size and the needle and when I replace the mixture screw how many turns out is recommended. Also do you know what model carb this is. I know it's a cvk. Is it a 30 or 40 maybe?? klx250 Thanks

If you plan on doing any jetting work I would recommend a dyno jet kit.

Also the carb is a keihin cvk34.
