Broken Speedo and some Panniers
Just a heads up if your speedo stops working.
So, I hop on my bike last week and while cruising down the road, I realize I don't have a speedo. It is just sitting on "zero". Not a big deal but when the trip meter is your gas gauge, it kind of sucks ( no speedo = no odometer )
So I visually inspected the cable, hub and below the dash where it screws in. Everything looked fine. So I then pulled the end out of the out of the hub and as you can see, the end just fell off in my hand. Obviously the cable broke about an inch from the end.
A new one from bike bandit or kawasaki parts nation wasn't bad on price, I think $14 at one and $18 at the other. Shipping was outrageous at both places. It was $20 for s&h !!!!!!!! So believe it or not, I went down to the dealer and got it for $21 total. Not every day that the dealer is cheaper.
So now the speedo works, so for my birthday, my better half got me a set of dirt bagz. Seem to be just about the perfect size. Not to hard to install, just had to remove the rear footpegs. Plus, it I ever want to take the framing off, it would maybe take 5 minutes.

Now I have a mini tourer.
