Default LED blinkers and taillight install question

Hi - I am a recent owner of a 2010 and very much enjoying the bike. As well I have benefitted greatly from this and other sites covering the KLX250 - so thanks to all. I have done a few of the standard mods to help the bike breathe and also some additions for protection - I am 95% off road for usage. I would like to convert the blinkers over to LEDs and need a bit of advice.

I have installed the Edge LED rear tail light and LED blinkers at the rear. I currently have a fast blink for both left and right. I would like to install the front LEDs and would like to obtain a normal blink rate and properly functioning meter turn indicator light.

On a previous bike I installed LEDs, an IC relay flasher and a diode to control the single "bulb" indicator in the dash. My problem with this bike is I do not understand what will happen to the "LED" indicator in the meter unit. My concern is that I will end up with emergency flashers instead of blinkers.

I could go ahead and install the IC Relay and front blinkers but I would like to know ahead of time what the behaviour of the LED turn indicator will be.

Does anyone have experience in this area?

Thanks (this is my first post here)

I fitted LED "click n ride indicators and used an aftermarket led specific flasher. the blink rate was then back to normal.

No first-hand experience here... but I have read that others had issues with the dash indicator when the using blinker module. IIRC, there were no problems when using load resistors (which, BTW, defeats the benefit of running LEDs for power reasons).

And... welcome to the forum!!!

Thanks for the responses. I may try the resistor route for the front lights - recognizing that it does not reap the electrical benefits of the LED power draw.

Still not sure what the effect on the single blinker indicator light will be.
